Monitise plc Joins Forces With CGI Group Inc, According to BAC Report

LONDON – Monitise Plc and CGI Group Inc started their year with collaboration agreement on Mobile Money solutions to banking and payments companies. Monitise’s technology platform will serve as base for future developments. Today mobile banking is becoming a necessity for the related companies. Monitise and CGI will focus on the banks of the UK, France, Germany, Scandinavia and Benelux. The two companies will be helping all the banks stay competitive and integrate modern mobile banking support into their infrastructures.

Monitise is striving to improve its profits and optimize costs. The company experiences net losses from year to year, and 2011 was not an exception. For the annual period ended December 2011 the company recorded revenue of GBP 36.1 M (135.9%), gross profit of GBP 24 M (155.3% up), operating and net income of GBP (11.3) M and GBP (16.4) M, respectively. Quarterly results for 2012 year reveal yet another future loss. While revenue and gross profit amounted GBP 20.3 M and GBP 14 M, respectively, operating and net income stayed low beyond zero point at GBP (12.2) M and GBP (17.5) M. Monitise is still building its client network and developing exclusive payment and banking software. Its major customers today are Nokia, Visa, HSBC, Lloyds, BestBuy, and others.
