As of 2011, there are approximately 1.9 million HNWIs in the BRICS, with a combined wealth of US$7.5 trillion. “2012 BRICS Wealth Book” is the result of WealthInsight’s extensive research covering the HNWI population and wealth management industry in China, India, Brazil, Russia and South Africa.

HNWIs in BRICS have recovered well from the global economic crisis
As of 2011, there are approximately 1.9 million HNWIs in the BRICS, with a combined wealth of US$7.5 trillion. This equates to 11.3% of worldwide HNWI volumes and 11.4% of total worldwide HNWI wealth.
The total number of HNWIs in the BRICS increased by 30% over the review period.
Growth in HNWI wealth and volumes will improve over the forecast period driven by strong growth in all BRICS countries. India and China are expected to lead the way.
Over the forecast period, the total number of BRICS HNWIs is forecast to grow by 76%. HNWI wealth will see a slightly larger percentage increase, growing by 83% to reach US$13.7 trillion in 2016.
