Parkson Holdings Berhad Incorporates New Subsidiary According to BAC Company Report

LONDON – In February 2012 Parkson Holdings announced incorporation of a new Vietnamese subsidiary, HBT Properties Co., Ltd. (Parkson HBT) which is 100% owned by its another wholly-owned operating subsidiary Parkson TSN Holdings Co., Ltd. (Parkson TSN). The investment certificate was released on February 13.
Parkson Holdings has been delivering steady performance in the last periods. March 2012 brought revenue of MYR 918.2 M, operating income of MYR 263.3 M, net income of 102.4 M, and profit margin of 11.2%. Regionally, China was the main revenue contributor with 69% share. Malaysia generated 24%, Indonesia and Vietnam added 4% and 3%, respectively. Among operating segments, Commissions from concessionaire sales generated 56% of all revenues, direct sales contributed 39%, and rental income added 5%.
Looking ahead, Parkson Holdings will continue developing its network and opening new retail markets. Despite adverse economic situation and slowing Chinese economy, the company has evident advantages that will contribute to its expansion, like strong brand equity, well-based business model or vast customer base.
Founded in 1982 and headquartered in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Parkson Holdings is a part of the Lion Group that engages in retail operations under the brands “Parkson” and “Centro”. Goods categories vary from clothing and accessories to groceries and machinery. The company runs 98 stores, 37 of them are located in Malaysia, 46 are located in China, 8 are located in Vietnam, and 7 are placed in Indonesia. The Indonesian stores operate under the brand names Centro and Kem Chicks.
