Wabash National Corp. Acquired Walker Group Holdings According to BAC Company Report

LONDON – Earlier in May Wabash National Corporation announced final stage of Walker Group Holdings purchase, accounted for USD 360 million. Walker is posed to establish Wabash competitive position on a totally new market - stainless steel products for the chemical, dairy, food and beverage, personal care, aviation, pharmaceutical, energy, sanitary, and nuclear industries. This acquisition will allow Wabash to diversify its operations and therefore become less dependent on truck market performance. All Walker products will be regarded to Diversified Products segment.
Wabash was able to significantly improve its performance in 2011. After several years of financial losses the company registered organic growth within all sectors. Thus, revenue and gross profit increased by 85.4% and 137.4%, respectively, and amounted to USD 1.2 B and USD 66.7 M. Both operating and net income delivered a rehab from negative numbers to above-zero range, and equaled USD 19.8 M and USD 15 M, respectively. Q1 2012 results continue the positive trend with revenue of USD 277.7 M, gross profit of USD 19.7 M, operating income of USD 5.4 M, and net income of USD 5.1 M. The improvement against Q1 2011 is evident: new trailer shipments grew by 16%, while Diversified Products segment recorded a 98% increase.
