General Cable Corp. Acquires Delphia Produtos Eletricos Ltda According to BAC Company Report

LONDON – Recently General Cable announced completion of Delphia Produtos Eletricos Ltda purchase. This Brazilian company leads the domestic market with its automotive ignition wire harnesses. In 2011 it generated USD 20 M of revenues. This acquisition is another step in General Cable’s geographic expansion plan. It opens Latin American markets to the enterprise, allowing full penetration of world markets and global reach of main corporate clients.
General Cable delivered a confident financial results in 2011: on year over year (YoY) basis revenue grew up 20.6% to USD 5.9 B, gross profit increase by 9.1% to USD 625.6 M, operating income added 2.5% and amounted USD 248 M, and net income was 21% higher reaching USD 84.1 M. Not the best year for the company but definitely a sign of recovery from the crisis. Last quarter ended December 2011 appeared to be weaker than the previous ones within the financial year. Revenue was USD 1.4 B, gross profit was USD 127.6 M, operating income was 31.7 M, and net income equaled USD 4.5 M.
