New World Department Store China Limited Converts Another Store According to BAC Company Report

LONDON - New World Department Store China Limited recently announced conversion of a managed store Beijing New World Liying Department Store (“Beijing Liying Store”) into a self-owned office. This 52 thousand square meters store is located in a convenient place within diversified transportation network, close to the international airport. The store specializes on women and men wear, cosmetics. In 2012 it is planned to attract international brands of clothing and cosmetics. Beijing Liying Store is the fifth self-owned store of NWDS in Beijing, and it helps to strengthen company’s leading position in the city.
NWDS financial performance reflects stable growth over quarters and years. H1 2011 was a noticeable improvement against H1 2010: revenue rose up 65.7% to CNY 1,465.6 M, operating income gained 55.1% and amounted CNY 711.6 M, net income increased by 83.6% to reach CNY 561 M, profit margin improved from 34.6% to 38.3%.
FY ended June 2011 brought revenue of CNY 2,479.5 M (up 46.8% YoY), gross profit of CNY 1,854 M (up 56.6%), operating income of CNY 1,113.2 M (up 37.2%), and net income of CNY 855.6 M (up 48.1% YoY). Most significant contribution to these numbers was made by cosmetics and ladieswear sales.
Founded in 1993 and headquartered in Hong Kong, New World Department Store China Limited is a large-scale retailer of ladieswear, menswear, cosmetics, accessories, kidswear, grocery, electronics, and sports merchandise. It operates 32 self-owned and 5 managed stores in 17 China cities under two brands - New World and Ba Li Chun Tian. The company also launched e-shopping platform in 2011. NWDS is public and trades on Hong Kong Stock Exchange under the ticker 0825.
