Centrais Electricas Brasileiras S.A. and its partners, Construtora Queiroz Galvao S.A. and Enel SpA have received approval for the environmental impact study for a 220-MW hydroelectric power plant that they plan to build in Nicaragua. The project would also entail the construction of a substation and a 70-km transmission line.
On June 18, 2010, Enel SpA has signed a contract with JSC RusHydro. The contract has been signed to work on joint projects in the power sector in Russia.
