About Chromium Market

Chromium is a steely-gray, lustrous, hard metal that takes a high polish and has a high melting point. Chromium has a wide range of applications in chemicals, metals, and refrac-tory materials. Production of stainless steel and nonferrous alloys are two of its main appli-cations. Chromium also is used in alloy steel, catalysts, leather processing, pigments, plating of metals, refractories, and surface treatments.

World’s largest chromium producer is South Africa, supplying about 40% of all volume. But biggest reserves (~50%) are located in Kazakhstan (world’s third largest producer).
