Petkim Petrokimya Holding A.S. produces, supplies, and sells petrochemical products in Turkey. It offers low density polyethylene, high density polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, polypropylene, masterbatches, olefins, fibers, and aromatics. The companys low density polyethylene and high density polyethylene products are primarily used in film extrusion, pipe extrusion, wire and cable coating, blow molding, injection molding, and industrial bags applications. Its polyvinyl chloride products are used in rigid pipes, opaque or transparent rigid bottles, profiles and pipe fittings, insulation and sheating of cables, sole of shoes, flexible and semirigid profiles and pipes, flexible films and plates, toys, and drinking and irrigation water pipes; polypropylene products are used in injection and fibre, as well as woven bags, ropes, flat tapes, and monofilament applications; and masterbatches products are used in the production of agricultural film with IR absorbent, and LDPE compounds for thin packing films and special applications, as well as for white colour agent to LDPE, HDPE, and PP products. The companys olefins are used in the production of 1,3 butadiene, MTBE, MEK, LPG, PE, VCM, EO/EG, and polypropylene; and fibers are used principally in the production of polyester fiber and film, automotive antifreeze, liquid refrigerants, and anti-icing compounds and explosives. Its aromatic products include benzene, which is used in the production of aniline, LAB, DDB, DDT, maleic anhydride, dichlorobenzene, styrene, cyclohexane, and medicines; orthoxylene that is used in the production of phthalic anhydride; and paraxylene used in the production of Terephthalic Acid and Dimethyl Terephthalate. In addition, it offers phthalic anhydride, which is used in the production of plastifiers, paints, and polyesters; and caustic soda that is used in soap, detergent, alumina, paper, glass, textile, and food industries. The company was founded in 1965 and is based in Aliaga, Turkey.
