Hanwha Chemical Corporation, a petrochemical company, engages in the production and sale of organic and inorganic chemicals worldwide. The companys products include low density polyethylene for agricultural and industrial, extrusion coated packaging materials, injection molded products, foamed products, and blow molded products applications; ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer for shoe materials, agricultural films, and laminating films; linear low density polyethylene for films for agricultural and industrial use, tarpaulin coatings, and chemical containers; and wire and cable compounds. It also provides PVC resins for pipe, sash, hose, cable insulation, soft sheet, and rigid sheet applications; PVC paste resins, micro suspension resins, emulsion resins, and special resins for use in flooring, wall coverings, artificial leather, tarpuline, carpet tiles, and toys; plasticizers; Octanol for use in plasticizers, solvents, and stabilizers; and butanol for manufacturing paints. In addition, the company offers caustic soda for the petroleum, pulp, paper, and alumina industries; chlorine for PVC, organic compounds, and bleaching agents, as well as for drinking water purification and waste water disinfection; ethylene dichloride for producing vinyl chloride monomer; VCM to produce polyvinyl chloride; epichlorohydrin for producing epoxy resins, synthetic glycerin, epichlorohydrin elastomers, specialty water treatment chemicals, wet-strength resins for paper production, and surfactants; hydrochloric acid; and sodium hypochlorite, a water disinfectant and anti-biofouling agent. Further, it provides soluryl resins and soluryl emulsions; and supercritical water oxidation technology designed to decompose organic pollutants in waste water, as well as develops carbon nano tubes, ceramic barium titanate, nano particles, cathode materials, nano electronic links, and hydrogen storage materials. The company was founded in 1965 and is headquartered in Seoul, South Korea.
