Abstracts

Chlorpyrifos, a toxic crystalline organophosphate insecticide that inhibits acetylcholinesterase and used to control insect pests, is mainly used in cotton, paddy, vegetable, fruit tree in China. Chlorpyrifos has moderate toxicity and its use has been partly restricted in some countries such as USA and Canada.

Chloripyrifos has been developed in China only for two year. Its development in China is relatively later than foreign countries. Chlorpyrifos, as a newly developed product, its demand in China tends to be increasing.

It seems that the Chinese manufacturers have just grasped the production technology of chlorpyrifos in the recent years. Chlorpyrifos is a new pesticide and the Chinese manufacturers have enthusiasm for it.

Compared to foreign products, the domestic product has higher price. Therefore, the export volume of Chinese chloripyrifos is small.
