The molecular formula of the gas is FH, and molecular weight is 20.00. Anhydrous hydrofluoric acid has a boiling point of 19.51°C and a melting point of -83.53°C. The product is easily soluble in water and alcohol, and poorly soluble in ether.
Anhydrous hydrofluoric acid is widely used in the manufacturing of fluorinated carbon compounds that are employed as foam blowing agents, solvents, fire-extinguishing agents and raw material for the production of fluorinated monomers. Moreover, the product is used to manufacture fluorocarbon products, fluoropolymers, and chemical derivatives. Anhydrous hydrofluoric acid is also utilized in the petrochemical industry in alkylation reactions.
