2013 was the first year since 2010 that the number of credit cards in circulation in Poland increased. These declines were mainly due to the stricter requirements demanded by Polish banks from account holders applying for credit cards after regulations came into force during 2010 imposing additional responsibilities on banks to check the creditworthiness of those applying for credit. In addition, some Polish consumers voluntarily eschewed credit cards, especially those which they were not using...
