Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank or 'the group') is principally engaged in all aspects of commercial banking and related financial services. The group's subsidiaries are principally engaged in the businesses of banking and finance; Islamic banking; and investment banking, including stock broking, underwriting of general and life insurance, general and family takaful, trustee and nominee services, asset management and venture capital. Maybank operates in Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Americas. It is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and employed 47,000 people as of December 31, 2014. The group recorded revenues of MYR35,712 million ($10,913.6 million) during the financial year ended December 2014 (FY2014), an increase of 7.4% over FY2013. The operating profit of the group was MYR8,948.5 million ($2,734.6 million) in FY2014, an increase of 2.5% over FY2013. The net profit of the group was MYR6,716.5 million ($2,052.5 million) in FY2014, an increase of 2.5% over FY2013.
