25 Apr 2011 • by Natalie Aster

Makers tap strong design capacity to offer indigenous and modern style sofas, bar tables and chairs, kitchen cabinets and benches; Majority expect sales growth through 2011.

INDONESIA – The report Indonesia Sourcing Reports: Rattan Furniture by Global Sources features profiles of 38 export suppliers with verified manufacturing and production capacity, plus descriptions, prices and packaging details for more than 160 popular export products. These include sofas, armchairs, couches, coffee tables, outdoor beds, chairs and other types of furniture sets.

“Many buyers are looking to diversify their furniture supply base beyond Greater China,” said Alexander Boome, program director of the Kearny Alliance. “They note that the sector is boasted by a number of competitive advantages, chief of which are the local suppliers’ ability to create innovative designs and abundant raw rattan as the world’s largest supply hub. This enables the suppliers to be confident about their export sales growth in 2011,” Boome said.
