LONDON – Late March 2012 Sinopoly Battery Limited held a ceremony to award best student contributors into Chinese battery technology development. Shanghai Research Institute hosted the action, where 24 students from different universities of China were awarded by “2011 Annual Sinopoly Scholarship Award”. This event in planned to stimulate research activities among Chinese students on eco-friendly Li-ion batteries.

Hong Kong based Sinopoly Battery Limited engages in development and manufacture of Li-ion batteries and related products. The company has two production facilities – in Jilin and Tianjin. Annual capacity of Jilin plant is 120 million AH, while annual capacity of Tianjin plant is 130 million AH. Both plants, however, have not entered full operational strength yet, and when they will do so, their capacities will reach 250 million AH each, which will make Sinopoly Battery the largest Li-ion battery manufacturer in China.
