LONDON - Sinotrans Ltd. recently announced its win of a bid for logistics service in China Union (Libya) Bong Mine Project. Starting March 2012, Sinotrans takes responsibility for port cargo collection, sea transportation and delivery to Monrovia port, land transportation to Libya and finally warehousing of the cargo in the country.
China Union (Libya) Bong Mine Project is an iron ore exploration and mining project of China Union company for development of Bong Mine located in Bing County, Libya.
Sinotrans delivers steady performance year over year. Last half-year ended December 2011 brought revenue of CNY 23.1 B, gross profit of CNY 3 B, operating income of CNY 317 M, and net income of 204.4 M. Annual trends show moderate growth: in 2011 revenue added 2.8% from the previous year and amounted to CNY 43.7 B, gross profit gained 4% to equal CNY 6 B, operating income was 11.5% higher and reached CNY 866.2 M, and net income was CNY 642.5 M which is a 4.2% increase over 2010. Generally 2011 brought slowdown in global economy, pressing logistics business, and the tense is expected to continue in 2012.
