For the purpose of this report, the ‘Express market’ refers to parcel revenues and volumes generated from, Courier, Express and Parcel (CEP) as well as postal companies with a weight limit of 31.5kg to 70kg. 'Economy' refers to revenues / volumes generated from ‘Day Uncertain’, ‘Standard' or ‘Deferred' services (i.e. neither non-day nor time guaranteed services) depending on terminology. Economy includes less time-sensitive services without a specific delivery time promise (and can include basic postal parcel volumes). This type of service is not guaranteed.

'Same Day' refers to urgent (non-network) packages which are delivered typically within 24 hours of collection unless standard services domestic operate within this timeframe) and offering a full money-back guarantee (it excludes messenger / pushbike type of companies). Day or Time Definite (guaranteed) services refer to delivery by a certain day or certain time of a day. Market volumes reflect the total number of individual parcels moved. All Currency conversions have been calculated at constant annual average exchange rates.

For the purpose of this report Europe is deemed to comprise of Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden and the UK.
