According to a report released by Barnes Reports and entitled “2007 Worldwide Full-Service Restaurants Industry Report”, restaurant profits in large countries grow by an average of 3-7% a year.
America offers the most favorable terms for the restaurant business development due to high profitability in the sector and ongoing 7% revenue growth rate. Profit breakdown is as follows: $176.3bn in 2006, $189.6bn in 2007 (forecasted), $203.4bn in 2008 (forecasted).
Despite slight slowdown, Japanese restaurant business profits are stable and world’s second-largest (61.3% of the US market). Profit breakdown: $97.6bn in 2004, $107.8bn in 2005, $109.8bn in 2006, $116.2bn in 2007 (forecasted) and $120.9bn in 2008 (forecasted).
Germany holds the third place with 28.8% of the US market. However, this market in Germany is rather unstable and profits grow by 3-5% a year. Profit breakdown: $52.1bn in 2006, $54.6bn in 2007 (forecasted), $56.5bn in 2008 (forecasted).
