This report is currently available in Russian language only. However, we can provide an English version of the report within 3 weeks after receiving a payment.

This study focuses on market analysis of glass fiber and its products in the CIS countries in order to optimize the promotion of the products by manufacturers.

The work consists of 6 chapters, the volume of work is 254 pages. The text is illustra-ted with 139 tables and 57 figures.

This review is the most complete among the currently presented in the information market on the subject.

A distinctive feature of the study is that the glass fiber market analysis throughout the work is given in two sections: individual characteristics of continuous fiber sector and its products and characterization of staple fiber sector and its products. This allowed us to avoid the mistakes made by authors of similar studies. Namely, the authors, on the one hand, for companies that produce continuous fiber, they, using government statistics, added production figures of the companies that manufacture products from staple fiber. On the other hand, they did not take into account production data of all producers (represented in other sections of RCP (Russian Classification of Products) and OKPD), producing items of staple fibers, as well as of companies that produce products of continuous fiber, but do not have their own glass-melting furnaces.

The second feature of this study is a detailed description of the foreign trade operations in glass fiber and its products in the CIS countries. The sources used were not only customs declarations in Russia and Ukraine (traditional materials), but the data on export-import operations, provided by countries to the United Nations (UN) - United Nations Commodity Trade Statistics Database.

This report contains all technical features for both glass fibers (rovings, glass strands) and its products, produced by all companies in the sector.

Great massif of data (both in terms of volume and quality) has been collected in the chapter Consumption, which assesses the demand for glass fiber products in all end-uses – by all major types of products - insulation materials, glass wallpaper, glass fiber cloth and glass fiber nets.

In Chapter 4 the authors of the study gave a quantitative characteristic of the market capacity for the next member of production chain after glass fiber industry - glass fiber-reinforced plastics (GPR), that is also not found in any other proposals of other marketing firms. Detailed description is given to the production and market of pressmaterials, GRP and GRP pipes.

The authors give detailed information for the traditional sections of a marketing research. In particular, the material is presented on the production technology of glass fiber and raw materials used, production characteristics and description of all the manufacturers of fiber glass in Russia and the CIS, dynamics and directions of supplies of the commodity production in the CIS.

The final part of the research provides forecast of development of production of continuous glass fiber and its products in the medium term - up to 2015.

The main and primary source materials for the research were data of the companies and results of telephone interviews with their representatives. They allowed us to estimate production and market situation, both in the industry as a whole and at each enterprise to make adjustments to the data of the Federal Service of State Statistics (FSSS) of Russia, which do not accurately and correctly reflect the situation in the industry. Trade relations were analyzed based on data from the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of Russia. Considerable assistance in the work of experts was produced by submissions from regional mass-media.

This research claims to be a reference tool for marketing services and professional management decisions, working in the field of glass fiber product market.
