Comstock Mining Inc. operates as a precious metals mining company in North America. The company operates gold and silver test mine in northern Nevada. As of December 31, 2009, the company had drilled 182 holes at the Lucerne / Hartford Complex at its Comstock Project.

Comstock Lode Project

The company owns or leases various mineral exploration projects, including The Comstock gold and silver exploration and test mining project, the Spring Valley and Gold Canyon placers project, the Como mineral claims, and the Big Mike copper project. The company’s Comstock Lode Project is located in Storey and Lyon Counties, Nevada.

The company’s property rights to the mineral estate of the Comstock Lode Project consist of several mineral leases, various unpatented mineral claims, and fee ownership of real property.

Spring Valley Project (South Comstock)

The company owns a 100% interest in the 25 federal unpatented placer claims located in Lyon County, Nevada known as the Gold Canyon and Spring Valley claims.

Michael & kathryn s. Dondero lease:

The company has a mineral exploration and mining lease agreement with Michael & Kathryn S. Dondero covering seven patented claims located in Lyon County. The lease remains in effect for as long as exploration, development, mining, or processing operations are conducted on a continuous basis.

The Como Project

The company owns a 100% interest in the 8 unpatented lode mining claims, covering an area of approximately 168 acres in Lyon County, Nevada, that comprise the Como Project.

Big Mike Copper Project

The company owns a 100% interest in the 17 unpatented lode claims and 1 placer claim, covering a total of approximately 310 acres in Pershing County, Nevada, that consist of the Big Mike Copper property. The property is situated at an elevation of 5,000 to 5,500 feet.

Significant Events

On July 20, 2010, the company has purchased 7 patented mining claims totaling 48 acres, surface rights to two additional patented mining claims totaling 15 acres, 12 unpatented lode claims, and 15 acre-feet of water rights, in Storey County, Nevada from the estate of William Michael Donovan Jr.

In November 2010, Comstock Mining Inc. acquired 26 unpatented lode-mining claims along the southern extension of the Occidental Lode structure in Storey County Nevada. The Occidental Lode is located 1.5 miles due east of and sub-parallel to the veins of the main Comstock Lode. The properties were acquired through a lease agreement with Renegade Mineral Holdings, LLC. The company's land position in the Comstock district totals approximately 6,412 acres, including 892 acres of patented mining claims, and 5,520 acres of unpatented claims administered by the Bureau of Land Management.

History

The company was incorporated in 1999. It was formerly known as GoldSpring, Inc. and changed its name to Comstock Mining Inc. on July 21, 2010.
