PEMEX financed 70% of the acquisition cost with debt. HSBC Holdings plc, Credit Agricole CIB S.A., Natixis SA and Grupo Financiero Inbursa SAB de CV provided the debt facility to PEMEX for the transaction. Following the acquisition, PEMEX increased its share holding in Repsol from 4.87% to 9.49%.
