Segments

The company operates in two segments, Drilling and Production Services, and Technology Services.

Drilling and Production Services

The Drilling and Production Services segment carries on business in Western Canada through various operating divisions.

Well Servicing Division: Eagle Well Servicing (Eagle), the company's well servicing division, offers a fleet of 36 service rigs. IROC’s service rigs are used for completions, production, workovers, abandonment services and maintenance on producing oil and gas wells. Completion services prepare a newly drilled well for production and include cleaning out, installing production tubing or downhole and well equipment. Workover services include repairs or modifications to existing wells. Workovers are done to restore and improve production in an existing producing well or plugging or abandoning a well. Well maintenance services include routine mechanical repairs or replacing damaged production tubing.

The Eagle division competes with Precision Well Servicing (a division of Precision Drilling Trust), Concord Well Servicing (a division of CCS Income Trust), Nabors Well Servicing (a division of Nabors Drilling) and Rockwell Servicing (a division of Ensign Energy Services).

Oilfield Equipment Rentals Division: Aero Rentals, the company's rentals division, offers a range of rental equipment to the oil and gas industry. Aero offers rental oilfield service equipment, including blowout preventors, spooling equipment, valves, power swivels, handling equipment, accumulators, light plants, manifolds and tubular cross-overs and safety valves.

Technology Services

The Technology Services segment offers a range of memory gauges and permanent monitoring systems that measure pressure and temperature in the downhole and surface environment of oil and gas wells. It develops, manufacturers and markets a line of memory tools, surface readout tools, permanent installation tools, surface loggers, depth systems, gas lifts, mandrel plug tools and carriers for use at pressure ranges of up to 30,000 psi and temperatures up to 200 degrees Celsius.

History

IROC Energy Services Corp. was founded in 1982. The company was formerly known as IROC Systems Corp. and changed its name to IROC Energy Services Corp. in 2007.
