Executive Summary

The mission of this research paper is to explain how the global automobile and airline industries are impacting the global energy business. I have utilized over 350 sources for this extensive research paper which includes: over 150 annual reports, company press releases, company conference calls, and numerous articles from Reuters and Bloomberg. In addition, I have used several company publications for additional information, which include: Boeing, ExxonMobil, and Chevron. I have also utilized information from the International Energy Agency (IEA), the U.S. Energy Information Administration, and the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The research paper begins with a discussion of global natural gas dynamics and global crude oil dynamics. The global natural gas dynamics section will be 12 pages. Some of the major topics include: major global supply regions, current pricing environment, liquefied natural gas, hydraulic fracturing, major natural gas transactions which have occurred recently, major LNG projects being developed globally, and Qatar’s major LNG projects. The global crude oil dynamics section will be 26 pages. Some of the major topics include: current global consumption of crude oil, historical prices, automobile demand, OPEC, countries experiencing depletion, the refining sector, major North American proposed pipelines, and the current economic environment. The research paper will also discuss some of the major country’s which will be bringing forth new vital sources of crude oil. The countries include: Canada, Columbia, Iraq, and Venezuela.

The global automobile industry is another major topic which will be discussed in detail. The automobile industry section will discuss the top 10 global automobile markets, the United States automobile market, from 2000-2010, and the top 10 global automobile manufactures. The top 10 global automobile markets will feature the U.S., China, India, Brazil, and Japan. The top 10 global automobile manufacturers will feature Ford Motor Company, General Motors and Volkswagon. There will also be a discussion about the dynamics of the global airline industry. Major topics in this section will include: the competitive industry environment and risk factors, major industry consolidation which has occurred domestically and internationally, biofuels approval in the airline industry, global jet fuel consumption, and the global airline industry outlook, in 2012. The airline industry section will also include an analysis of Boeing’s, 2030 projections. This section will highlight the long-term growth prospects of major economic regions, as it pertains to aircraft demand, and air traffic growth. Many of the global airline carriers will also be listed.

There will also be a discussion about some of the major North American Exploration & Production companies, and will total 44 pages. This section will highlight each company’s major operations, new projects, and major 2011 highlights. The major E & P companies covered include: Canadian Natural Resources, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Devon Energy, ExxonMobil, Hess, Imperial Oil, Occidental Petroleum, and Suncor Energy.

The research paper will culminate with an 8 page conclusion, which will feature several of my observations and recommendations. The conclusion will highlight several of the stark differences, which have occurred from 2000 through 2010, and there will one page dedicated to ways at reducing global crude oil demand.
