Poland Construction Market Report
In 2007 the local construction and assembly sector marked a growth of 14% year-onyear. In the second half of 2008 the construction and assembly sector is expected to rise by at least 20% year-on-year, according to experts.
Polish construction sector was seen thriving in 2007 by both the companies and analysts. Local construction companies aimed at growing revenues and contract portfolios, to strengthen their positions on the domestic market. The forthcoming European football championship in 2012, with Poland as co-host together with Ukraine, will expands the sector further as a number of infrastructure projects and construction works are to be carried out.
The number of construction companies registered in the Polish Trade Registry totalled 27,535 at the end of 2006, a rise of 10.8% on the year. Sales by construction companies grew 15.7% month-on-month in June 2006 and 9.2% year-on-year in the first half of the year.
