Entering June 2011, the continuous rainfall along the Changjiang River Valley has eased the prior drought and boosted the market demand for rice insecticides in major rice planting regions along the valley. Undoubtedly, the continuous rainfall is a piece of good news for insecticide manufacturers. Rice insecticides like chlorpyrifos, imidacloprid, triazophos, DDVP, dimehypo, monosultap, acephate and mobucin all benefit from the rainfall. Take imidacloprid for example, its market price soars dramatically in June.
Besides rice insecticides, peanut insecticides like DDVP and acetamiprid also enjoy high sales volume pushed up by the severe occurrence of peanut insect pests this year. The sales of most recommended insecticides to control peanut insect pests turned out good in this June.
In this issue, CCM also provides an overview of rice insecticides' registrations in 2010. Chlorpyrifos remained the hottest rice insecticides registered, while more environmentally friendly rice insecticides were registered in 2010. The proportion of rice insecticides with eco-friendly formulations like AS and WG increased to 33.3% in 2010 from 19.4% in 2007.
