The clay is insoluble in water, oil or organic solvent. The product is manufactured from montmorillonite clays by Dry or Wet process.

Activated bleaching earth has various applications. One of its key uses is decoloration and purification of oil, lubricant oil, grease, paraffin oil, gas oil, kerosene in the oil industry. Moreover, the product is used in the field of animal and vegetable oil refining to decolorize purification.
