Trade and Trade Policy: Clothing Imports, Retail Demand and Trends in Five Key Emerging Markets, 4th Quarter 2011
This report provides vital data and analysis of trends in world, regional and national clothing imports and retail demand. World clothing imports rose by a significant 11.4%, according to the latest data. Imports were up in all but one of the world's 15 largest clothing markets while imports into eight of these 15 markets grew at double digit rates. The report also focuses in greater detail on clothing imports, retail demand and trends in five key emerging markets, namely Brazil, China, India, Indonesia and Turkey. Retail demand for clothing is expected to grow at double digit annual average rates during the first five years to 2016 in China, India, Indonesia, Peru, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Turkey, while growth in the high single digits is expected in Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Thailand.
