Lending Activities

The company provides short to medium-term commercial, mortgage, construction, and personal loans, including secured and unsecured. It also makes real estate mortgage and construction loans. The company makes business loans secured by real estate, personal property and accounts receivable; unsecured business loans; consumer loans, which are secured by consumer products, such as automobiles and boats; unsecured consumer loans; commercial real estate loans; and other loans. It also offers a range of banking services, including checking and savings accounts, commercial, installment and personal loans, safe deposit boxes, and other associated services.

Commercial Loans: Commercial and industrial loans include both secured and unsecured loans for working capital, expansion, and other business purposes. Short-term working capital loans are secured by accounts receivable, inventory, and/or equipment. It also makes term commercial loans secured by real estate, which are categorized as real estate loans.

Real Estate Loans: Real estate loans are made for purchasing and refinancing one to four family, five or more family, and commercial properties. Real estate loans also include home equity credit lines. The company offers fixed and adjustable rate options and provides customers access to long-term conventional real estate loans through its mortgage loan department which makes secondary market conforming loans that are originated with a commitment from a correspondent to purchase the loan within 30 days of closing.

Real Estate Construction Loans: Real estate loans are made for constructing one to four family and multi- family residential properties, the acquisition, and development of land for the purpose of providing residential and commercial lots for sale, and the construction of commercial properties.

Loans to Individuals: Loans to individuals include automobile loans, boat, and recreational vehicle financing, and miscellaneous secured and unsecured personal loans.

Investment Portfolio

As of December 2009, the company’s investment portfolio included state and municipals, mortgage-backed, and other securities.

Deposits

The company offers statement savings accounts, negotiable order of withdrawal accounts, money market demand accounts, noninterest-bearing accounts, and fixed interest rate certificates.
