ATM function remained a major function of all financial cards in Thailand thanks to easy access of ATMs nationwide. ATM function can be performed through ATM-only cards, debit cards, credit cards, pre-paid cards and store cards. Although number of ATM-only cards continued to drop, it was replaced by debit cards. Majority of debit card holders became accustomed to using the cards as ATM function rather than paying for goods and services.
