Ties Minnen
Ties Minnen elaborated on the feasibility to anaerobically digest jatropha seedcake for his master thesis . Concluding that the income from biogas from jatropha seed cake can in some cases exceed the income from the biofuel. The conventional CSTR-digester is often not very suitable to ferment the jatropha residue.
The interdisciplinary research was supervised by Prof. dr. C.P. Veerman, former minister of Agriculture (University of Tilburg) and by Prof. dr. ir. R. Rabbinge, internationally renowned expert on sustainable energy and food security (University of Wageningen). Amongst the co-readers was Dr. ir. G. Zeeman, internationally renowned biogas expert (University of Wageningen).
Over one year time Ties Minnen thoroughly studied the option of extracting biogas from jatropha seedcake from a biological, social, environmental and financial perspective. Now, Ties Minnen is available to consult jatropha companies and investors in the anaerobic digestion of jatropha seedcake.
