Experts predict further growth in this sector. The gains from the sales of construction materials (incl. plumbing fixtures) are forecast to hit $120.5bn in 2007 and $134.3bn in 2008, which is expected to be a peak year with regards to revenue growth.
Timber and related construction products brought the largest profit - $83.5bn in 2006. Woodworking products generated a revenue of $4.68bn, door and window frames earned $2.3bn.
