Development of hardware market in Ukraine follows development trends of paid TV market

«Information Agency «CredInform North-West» reached such conclusion having made marketing research of the
Ukrainian market of paid TV and hardware.
To capacity estimation of paid market some experts come in two ways. Its value in 2008 reached over 460 million hryvnias at average revenue per user at level about $4-6, and according to a number of experts the capacity is estimated in 2 times more. The given circumstance is connected with volumes growth of liquid crystal and plasma TVs realization with a big diagonal of screen designed for reception of high-quality digital signal and subscribers outflow from free of charge cable and satellite TV segments.
Besides, in the Ukrainian market on level of technical development the considerable part of wire highways has already been transformed into optical fiber that does not require additional investments to infrastructure development.
Now cable television subscribers are 32% of households, satellite TV – 8% in the Ukrainian paid TV market.
In prospects including landscape features, in Ukraine there will be a question on television signal delivery to households to hard-to-reach locations of the Crimea and in territory of the Western Ukraine.
In spite of fact the National Council of Ukraine has resolved broadcasting without restrictions to 13 Russian television channels. This list does not contain Russian national channels that can strengthen the transition a part of cable operators subscribers to satellite broadcasting with purchasing of required new equipment.
The technical basis of telecasting is enterprises and operators specializing in area of manufacture of various hardware elements, telecommunication, broadcasting and TV.
Under crisis the digital video broadcast development in Ukraine will depend on activity of some structures are responsible for this direction. So, TV transition to digital video broadcast must have been completed by 2015.
