LONDON – In 2012, the European road freight market registered a 0.7% YoY decline and shrank by nearly 0.3% in 2013. Such decline was provoked mainly by the decelerating economic growth in the North European nations, especially in Germany. In spite of the weak market state, Eastern Europe witnessed positive growth in the past few years. Meanwhile, the Netherlands emerged as the best performing country on strong intra-EU trade.
